In 2009, Ms. Shaw became CEO of Mountain BizWorks, a certified community development financial institution (CDFI) serving western North Carolina’s 12 most rural counties.  She is taking the organization to scale by leveraging the experience, reputation and capital it has gained over two decades. She previously served for 12 years as CEO of Cascadia, a nationally-recognized certified CDFI devoted to building economic opportunities through business development and capital. In 2006-2008, she was president of the Board of Directors of Opportunity Finance Network, the leading network of CDFIs and private financial intermediaries that invest in opportunities to benefit low-income and low-wealth people.
