Sen. Garrou is a Democratic member of the NC General Assembly, where she has represented the 32nd Senate district since 1999. Her district includes constituents in Forsyth County. She currently is co-chair of the Appropriations/Base Budget Committee and vice chair of the Pensions & Retirement and Aging Committee, plus serves on the Select Committee on Employee Hospital and Medical Benefits and is a member of the Commerce, Education/Higher Education and Finance committees. In addition, she serves on the Governor's Advocacy Council for Children and Youth and has been a regional administrator for AOCL since 1994.
