Julianne Malveaux, Ph.D.
The 15th president of Bennett College, Malveaux is also an economist and commentator whose contributions on issues such as the economic impacts of race, culture and gender are shaping public opinion. She is an accomplished author and editor, most recently authoring Surviving and Thriving: 365 Facts in Black Economic History, andhas hosted numerous television and radio programs. Since receiving her Ph.D. in Economics from MIT in 1980, she has served on the faculty or visiting faculty of six colleges and universities. As a committed activist and civic leader, she has held positions in innumerable women’s, civil rights and policy organizations.
