Jennifer Curtis has worked to promote sustainable agriculture and local food systems for over 20 years. As a professional consultant, she works with food companies, environmental organizations and academic institutions to design and manage projects that help save family farms, protect the planet and increase access to fresh healthy food (www.curtis-consulting.com). Her clients include Gerber Products Company, the World Wildlife Fund and, here in North Carolina, the Center for Environmental Farming Systems. As a social entrepreneur, Jennifer is currently helping to incubate Farmhand Foods, LLC – a NC-based business to bring pasture-raised meats from local farmers to local markets. Jennifer has an M.S. in Environmental Management & Policy from UNC’s School of Public Health.
