Gwynn Swinson’s passion for community service has been an integral part of her personal life and career, which spans over three decades in government, policy and academe.  She has received numerous awards and honors for outstanding public service and civic engagement at the local, state and national levels including the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.  Gwynn has volunteered in strategic roles with a number of professional and non-profit organizations including the UNCG Board of Trustees, NC Center for Public Policy Research, Leadership Triangle and United Way.  In 2006, she co-founded the North Carolina Conference for Women.
