Ms. Barksdale is a certifiedsports counselor now in her 14th season with the Raleigh-based National Hockey League franchise. She counsels team members and staff in the areas of career and family and also identifies organizations that would benefit from a charitable relationship with the team. Ms. Barksdale began her career with the Detroit Board of Education where she served for 10 years as a community/school liaison. She has also worked for the Western YMCA Metro Detroit and the United Community Services of Metropolitan Detroit, plus is the author of the copyrighted training program ‘Circles.’
